The book, Recuerdos de Uvalde, vividly shares the unique stories and struggles of Mexican Americans from Uvalde, Tejas, a city located 80 miles west of San Antonio. This collection of real- life stories was first found in the La Voz de Uvalde, a newspaper published by Molly and Alfredo Santos in the year 1994. Some write-ups and interviews appear here for the first time. It is the hope of the author that these accounts will impress upon the reader the importance and uniqueness of Uvalde, Texas and that the complete story of its citizens, present and past, “has yet to be told”.
