The passage of a young boy through the secrets of the old "Indian Way", a 1400-year-old prayer called the "Four Directions of the Universe".
 
The boy, "Sky", is urged by his grandfather, "Welito", to learn the prayer so he can "receive the knowledge of our ways and strengthen the need to pass it on to future generations". Through oral instruction, Welito leads Sky through the morning prayers of the "Four Directions of the Universe". On the way Sky is instructed on traditions, "hierbas" (herbs) and his new and old world ancestry, among many other teachings of "the Indian Way". "All from one prayer," Sky wisely summarizes at the end of his teachings.
